Fort Barrancas

Picture
On July 02, 2015 we took a trip to Pensacola, FL. While there, one of the places we visited was Fort Barrancas.

It is located near the Pensacola Lighthouse and the National Naval Aviation Museum and it is free to visit. Its construction dates back to 1698 and has served as a strategic post for the area for several different militaries.

It is amazing to see what they built then and how it continues to stand strong. I had a good time wondering
around this old fort and imagining what life might have been like back then. I also realized, life without air conditioning or a breeze is no fun.

If you're in the area, we would recommend stopping by, especially if you have kids. For more information on the fort, please click here: Fort Barrancas
