Las Vegas, NV

Las Vegas
Sin City, where anything goes and the house always wins! Las Vegas has come a long ways since its humble beginnings in 1905. Then, it was wood structures and dirt roads. Now, you can feel as though you are anywhere in the world thanks to the architectural influence that has helped shaped the unique skyline.

It is said this city never sleeps and we are inclined to believe that. There is always something to see and do almost no mater what time it is.
Although Vegas in best known for its gambling, there is more to the city than just pulling a lever on a slot machine or rolling some dice. This area has been home to many great entertainers like Sammy Davis Jr, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Liberance, Don Rickles, and so many more. Those names do not fill marquees any more, but that does not mean the show has stopped. Since then, others have stepped up to fill their shoes and pack seats; so if you enjoy catching a show, there is bound to be something for you.

Food is another highlight of this town. Just about anywhere you go you can find some delicious dishes along with the traditional eateries you might have back home. Even though "The Strip" is filled with good restaurants, some of the better food we have had while visiting was fresh street tacos from a food truck. That particular dinning experience was courtesy of a friend who lives there. If it was not for him, we would not have known about it as this location was off the beaten path.
If you visit the strip, you need to make your way to Fremont Street, which is one of the more famous areas. There you will find what is called, The Fremont Street Experience. It is best known for the over head LED display that is approximately 1,500 feet in length. If you want to get from one end of the street to the other (length wise, not width wise) you can take one of two zip lines and soar above the crowds. You will also find casinos, restaurants, and bars in and around this area too.

The last few times we stayed at the New York-New York Hotel, Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel, and Bally's Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. We enjoyed our time at these hotels and their location within the city in terms of ease of site seeing and experiencing the strip.

Lastly, for us one of the biggest attractions is not in Vegas itself, but one that is approximately 35 miles southeast. We are referring to the Hoover Dam. In our opinion, if you visit Las Vegas, at some point you should take a tour of the Hoover Dam or if nothing else, see it from the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge (US Rote 93) that crosses the Colorado River. We will caution you though, if you venture out there you will hear so many dam jokes about the Dam that you will go dam crazy. It should also be noted, we regret nothing for those last jokes. #damfunny
