Mackinac Island sits between the Upper peninsula (UP) and Lower peninsula (LP) of Michigan and is located in Lake Huron. The only way to and from the island is by ferry or personal boat. That is until the lake freezes over during the winter and people use snowmobiles as transportation.
The ride there provides a spectacular view of the "Mighty Mac" (connects the UP and LP) which is a suspension bridge that spans a total of almost five miles in length and has a road height of approximately 200 feet. |
